Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugs envisions the collapse of America as the result of a strike by the productive class. John Galt, the destroyer, gathers some of the producers into Galt's Gulch where they will wait out the total disintegration of America. Later they plan to emerge and shape the future as intellectual leaders.
If America's current economic, philosophic and demographic problems herald a similar, bleak future perhaps an intellecual Galt's Gulch should be prepared. Or if we somehow muddle through the next decade, how can like minded people shape the future to move closer to a classic liberal society where individual freedom reigns supreme?
For instance, would there be a way to reshape the constitution to prevent the masses from voting themselves other peoples money? How do we exactly move back to a gold standard? Can we have a social safety net compatible with individual liberty? Many questions beg answering and perhaps now is the time to have a discussion on the topics normal considered taboo.
